The purpose of this website is an attempt to put together, in an organized fashion, my own research into this crime.  I have spent several years combing through all published information about this crime and am continuing to do so today.  This website is both a work-in-progress and a work of love for me.

Much of the original trial proceedings are unavailable, but at one point a person who was described as "the sage of Warren County" had copies in his possession (see the article "100th Anniversary of the Castner Murder: Warren's Most Noticed Crime" published in the Washington Star [Washington] on 29 Apr 1943 -- scans of all articles found will be made available as the site grows).  

 

Under the "After Thoughts" heading I have put my own notes and questions regarding the case.

I have tried as much as possible to give credit to where I have gotten my information from.  If I missed anything, please let me know.
